Miramar Infrasound Array (MRIAR): San Diego, California

overview

Installed in 2008 by the Gravity Lab, this on-grid array consists of six OFIS sensors and six collocated Chaparral Physics Model 50 sensors attached to porous hose. The array aperture is about 100 m and has a good geometry for characterizing infrasound in the 0.5 to 5 Hz range. A high-speed Gill anemometer and a broadband seismometer are also collocated at this site. Data from this site are streamed back to the L2A lab in real time (< 1 s latency) via the HPWREN.
