Abstract Title:

"IS14 Infrasound Station, Juan Fernández Island (Robison Crusoe), Chile"
Abstract:

The IS14 Infrasound Station in Juan Fernandez Island, Chile, is one of the five stations of the International Monitoring System (IMS) network that will be installed in Chile.
Of all infrasound stations that are being deployed in the world, IS14 has been considered the most inaccessible and difficult to build.
In this poster we present details of different steps of the construction, planed to be ready by the end of 2003.
The pictures that follow give an idea of the topography and inaccessibility at each array element. The materials and equipments had to be transported by boat and small plain from Santiago to the Island, and by helicopter and mules from Cumberland bay in Juan Fernandez to the different sites.
