Chico Infrasound Array (CHIAR):
Big Chico Creek Ecological Reserve, Chico, California

overview

Installed in 2010 by the Gravity Lab, this array consists of four 30-m long OFIS sensors with an aperture of ~700 km. Each OFIS array element is entirely off-grid, each consuming only 20 W continuously and running on solar power. The sites are located in a valley between sparse trees. Data from this site are streamed back to the Gravity Lab in real time (< 2 s latency). Click here for a site table.
